Reporting to: Programs Manager Deadline: 21 July 2024 Location: Binga, Lupane and Hwange Duration: 12 months   Objective: To lead the implementation of Primary Health activities carried out by W4LIFE Program   Background The Wild4Life program, housed within the administrative infrastructure of Pangaea Zimbabwe, is embarking on an ambitious strategy to scale-up operations in Zimbabwe to additional districts in the Matabeleland Province, and ultimately to other districts throughout the country, focusing on improving the quality of primary health care through resilient health systems. The Wild4Life program focuses on building capacity for health facilities and communities to improve health outcomes among rural populations through integrated mentorship targeting multidisciplinary facility teams, community health workers and health centre committees, integrated outreaches to hard-to-reach areas, implementation of differentiated service delivery models and application of continuous quality improvement tools and techniques. Monitoring, evaluation, and learning are key to not only achieving the program results but also to ensuring that the information generated is reflected upon and used to continuously improve performance. Since its inception, the Wild4Life program has evaluated its program through the collection and collation of facility-level clinical data, and by tracking program outputs and progress against targets. As Wild4Life prepares for its programmatic expansion, there is a need for the program to develop and implement a more rigorous monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) plan to inform ongoing program roll-out, to assess the contribution of the program on health outcomes among the clients at supported facilities, and to measure the program’s capacity to promote the efficient use of resources among Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) health executive teams at district level. Having a rigorous MEL plan also will help lay the groundwork for an external impact and cost-effectiveness evaluation of the Wild4Life program.   Expected Deliverables The Community Support Officer will be responsible for the timely attainment of the following deliverables for Wild4Life, and responsibilities are subject to change upon changing the scope of the program: • Lead person for community health interventions working Field officer and interns • Support supervision of Village health workers to ensure health related duties carried out in the community are well documented and patients are referred for services to the clinic. • Conducting VHW infield mentoring and collecting data from the field for program management • Establishing and supervision of HIV positive adolescent support groups and PMTCT mother baby-pair support groups. • Coordinating Children support group activities ensuring children have access to Viral load testing and enhanced adherence counselling is instituted where needed. • Focal person for mental health screening for community lay cadres using the friendship bench model or any other as required • Rolling out the CARGS programs in the district and offering support supervision of CARG groups and ensuring the quality of care remains high for patients who have opted for the model • Organising and mobilising communities for community dialogues around health-related matters. Cascading Index Testing to the communities in the district. • Engage health centre committees for facility infrastructure maintenance and improvements including community engagement • Conduct trainings and refresher trainings for community health cadres • Participate in stakeholder meetings occurring within and outside the district • Represent and advance the interests for PZ in fora where you are selected as an organisation representative • Participate in budget and work planning for activities funded within the funding cycle • Compiling monthly reports and quarterly reports as well as monthly statistics for community programs • Formulating budgets for VHW food hamper incentives and refreshments for support groups and any work -related training • Identify health issues that need community attention and conduct community dialogues to help address the problems • Any other duties as may be assigned by the programs manager.   Qualifications and Skills The Community Support Officer should have the following expertise: 1. A minimum Degree in Public Health, Social sciences, Nursing or equivalent. 2. A Nursing Diploma or Community Nursing Diploma is an added advantage. 3. Excellent Computer skills, excel and and knowledge of HIV and AIDS indicators. 4. Excellent interpersonal skills and oral communication and writing skills, including experience in working as part of a team. 5. A good understanding of the M&E systems used by Ministry of Health and Child Care DHIS2, HER, EPMS ,LMIS. 6. Working experience in an NGO sector is a prerequisite. 7. Other responsibilities will include; • Providing HIV testing and counselling services to adolescents and young people and all other clients presenting to the Beitbridge Wellness Centre. • Entering HTS data accurately and correctly in the MOHCC M&E tools. • Conducting daily HTS controls to ensure internal quality assurance in rapid HIV testing. • Providing PrEP services (Screening, Initiation, Choice Counselling and follow up for subsequent visits). • Providing daily health talks to clients including the CATALYST Study, PrEP Choice, STIs, GBV/IPV, FP Choice and Mental Health. • Screening, counselling and management of STIs • Screening, counselling and providing of short-term and long-term contraception • Treatment of minor ailments and referral of clients with complicated cases to the next level of care. • Providing psychosocial support to young people • Mapping referral pathways and referring clients to other service providers depending to their different needs. • Maintaining clinical inventory and stock cards, ordering of consumables and study related products ensuring that there are no stock outs. • Preparing monthly work plan • Compilation and submission of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports including PZAT reports, MOHCC Monthly Return Forms, Quasi MRFs. • Registration and compliance to regulatory boards • Attending and participating in stakeholder meetings and presenting progress reports with partner organizations and government departments Qualifications and Experience: • A Primary Care Nurse with a Certificate in Nursing. • Registered with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe and in possession of a valid practising certificate. • Valid Certificate in Rapid HIV Testing and Counselling • A post-basic qualification is an added advantage. • 5 years’ experience as a Primary Care Nurse and 2 years’ experience in clinical management of HIV • Candidates with qualifications and experience in counselling services have an added advantage. • Demonstrable ability to work with Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYWs) • Knowledge of the National HIV prevention guidelines and EDLIZ • Familiar with national guidelines, SOPs and protocols, especially for HIV and SRH service To Apply: Suitably qualifying candidates can send their Curriculum Vitae and Application to: admin@pzat.org on or before 16 June 2023. Pangaea Zimbabwe AIDS Trust (PZAT) is an independent Zimbabwean entity registered as a local Trust in August of 2012 (MA/909/2012). PZAT strives to transform the lives of people living with and affected by HIV by working to ensure their access to comprehensive HIV and sexual health services delivered in safe and supportive environments. Job summary The Field officer will be based in Matabeleland North- Bubi and will report to the Project Coordinator. The incumbent will be responsible for working with Health service providers, community stakeholders and key partners involved in Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) programming; to improve access to HIV prevention, care and treatment services in Matabeleland North-Bubi.

Key Duties and Responsibilities Build capacity of health workers to provide Youth friendly services through training; Conduct community dialogues and group discussions with Adolescent girls and Young Women (AGYW) to determine perceptions on services provided and how to improve service delivery models; Design service delivery models in consultation with relevant stakeholders; Work with Project Coordinator and project team in the development of IEC materials for interpersonal communication and PrEP literacy; Identify and train PrEP champions in consultation with specified partner organizations; Facilitate establishment ofsupport groups for AGYW social support; Document and report on activities conducted; Formulating budgets for AGYW/ YWSS economic strengthening projects and participate in related trainings; Compiling weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as well as monthly statistics for community programs; Identify and train (Young Sisters) YS in consultation with specified partner organizations and PrEP Champions; Oversee the day to day operations of AGYW hubs for effective project implementation; Rolling out the YWSS programs in the District and offering support supervision to YWSS groups and ensuring the quality of care remains high for AGYW who have opted for the model; Liaise with primary counsellor and YS for effective implementation of the mobile clinic model for AGYW / YWSS; Build capacity of YS to create demand for AGYW/ YWSS friendly services through training and mentorship; Participate in budget and work planning for activities funded within the funding cycle; Participate in stakeholder meetings occurring within and outside the district.

Qualifications, experience, and key competencies required First degree in degree in social/behavioral sciences or related discipline; 1+ years relevant working experience working with communities and multiple stakeholders in HIV and health programming; Excellent Computer skills, excel and knowledge of HIV and AIDS indicators and good understanding of the M&E systems used by Ministry of Health and Child Care.

Must be youth-friendly; Possess skills in training & results based reporting; Competent in stakeholder engagement, multi-level oral & written communication; Social media savvy- can use various platforms to mobilize, sensitize and build networks; Experience working with young people is an added advantage; Fluent in English, Ndebele and Shona a must; Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
