HIV Prevention Champions Training

On the 22 of March 2023, PZAT under the Coalition to Accelerate & Support Prevention Research Project trained 35 HIV prevention champions from 7 tertiary institutions across 6 provinces in Zimbabwe. The participants comprised of existing PZAT HIV prevention champions, new peer educators who replaced the champions who graduated and college authorities who will be supporting the program. The training focused on capacitating them to disseminate information on biomedical HIV prevention to their peers within tertiary institutions. It is anticipated that through this training the HIV prevention champions will be able to escalate issues that emerge from their consultations and engagements with Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) to relevant college authorities to address emerging barriers as well as to advocate for the introduction of biomedical HIV prevention products at their college clinics.
