Job Summary
Quality Coach position overview
The Quality Coach will work with multidisciplinary site QI staff teams and consumers to support them in assessing and strengthening their capacity to manage and implement quality improvement activities within the Quality Improvement Collaborative (QIC) nested in the CATALYST Study. This will occur through ongoing contact, on-site visits, individual and multi-site training, and participating in regional/national coaching group meetings.
Objectives for the QI coaches
- To provide QI coaching and impart skills to spread QI knowledge and create competencies across the QIC participating sites
- To establish sustainable QM Structures in the healthcare facilities
- To provide a link between the facility QI teams and the CATALYST study
- To promote a QM culture at all participating sites
- To enhance shared learning between facilities on successful quality improvement projects
Duties and responsibilities
Support QI teams in the implementation of the Quality Improvement Collaborative |

Conduct regular coaching visits/ support to QI teams |
|
Maintain regular communication with the CATALYST Study management team and the project |
|
Organize and facilitate learning sessions |
|
Document and report on the QI effort |
|
Other relevant skills
- Ability to work independently, with possession of strong mentorship and coaching skills
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Quality Improvement
- Knowledge of the country’s HIV program
- Should possess problem-solving skills and be detail-oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work in teams and manage time and projects
- Basic computer knowledge/skills and experience with use of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
- Willingness to travel
Education and experience
- Nursing degree or diploma, post-graduate training is an added advantage
- Certification in quality improvement is an added advantage
- Possess at least 5 years of experience working in the country’s public health sector, HIV programs and/or quality improvement/management system
